Our Origins and Life Journey
From Stockholm to Seville.
We are Mariana and Karolina, twin sisters born in Stockholm, Sweden, on March 13, 1980, to a Swedish father and an Argentine mother. We grew up there, cherishing a very happy childhood, until we were eight years old, when our family moved to Sanlúcar la Mayor, Seville, due to our father’s job.
Primary and Secondary Education
We attended primary school at Colegio Europa in Espartinas, Seville, and our secondary education was spread across several international schools: the Swedish School in Managua, Nicaragua, and American international schools in La Paz, Bolivia (American Cooperative School) and Quito, Ecuador (Academia Cotopaxi). We have beautiful memories from this time in our lives, as well as people who left a lasting impression on our hearts. A nomadic life is not always easy, but it enriches you and broadens your perspective. After all, it was a wonderful opportunity to explore the world and its people, to grow strong in the face of adversity, to adapt to change and loss, and to grow closer to the family who is always by your side. We believe this period shaped our open and welcoming character.
In 1999, after our time in Latin America, we returned to Spain to settle in Sanlúcar la Mayor and began our studies at the University of Seville. We earned our Medical Degree in 2005. This was also a wonderful period of personal growth and maturity, filled with intense study and surrounded by a great group of friends, many of whom we still keep in touch with, as well as our first loves.

En 1999, tras el periplo latinoamericano, volvimos definitivamente a España, a instalarnos en Sanlúcar la Mayor y estudiamos la carrera en la Universidad de Sevilla, obteniendo la Licenciatura de Medicina en 2005. También fue una hermosa etapa de crecimiento y maduración personal, mucho estudio y rodeadas de una estupenda pandilla de amig@s que aun conservamos, así como los primeros amores.
Specializations
Between 2006 and 2010, we specialized in “Medical-Surgical Dermatology and Venereology” (Mariana) and “Gynecology and Obstetrics” (Karolina) at the Virgen Macarena University Hospital in Seville. People at the hospital often confused us, which was quite fun. We also remember this as a wonderful time of growth during our training and specialization years, meeting many new people, becoming financially independent, and moving together into a rented apartment close to the hospital.
In pursuit of our dream to work together doing what we love most, the Clínica Hoffner project began to take shape in our hearts in 2014. We decided to open our practice in Sanlúcar la Mayor, our adopted hometown, where many people know us and where we’ve always felt comfortable and welcomed. After several months of searching for a suitable place, overseeing a complete renovation, and decorating with style and care to create spacious and warm environments, Clínica Hoffner officially opened its doors on November 2, 2015. With great pride and the unwavering support of our husbands and parents, we are happy to say that at Calle Real Nº 46, you have your home. We are here to help you take care of your health and well-being. Welcome!

Persiguiendo nuestro sueño de trabajar juntas haciendo lo que más nos gusta, en 2014 comienza a forjarse en nuestros corazones el proyecto de Clínica Hoffner. Decidimos abrir nuestra consulta en Sanlúcar la Mayor, nuestro pueblo de adopción, donde nos conoce mucha gente y siempre nos hemos sentido cómodas y acogidas. Después de varios meses de búsqueda de un local que se adaptase a nuestras necesidades, una obra integral del mismo, decoración con gusto y estilo, buscando espacios amplios y cálidos, el 2 de noviembre de 2015 finalmente abrió sus puertas Clínica Hoffner. Con mucho orgullo y contando siempre con el apoyo incondicional de nuestros maridos y padres, podemos deciros que en Calle Real Nº 46 tenéis vuestra casa, para ayudaros a cuidar de vuestra salud y vuestro bienestar. ¡Bienvenidos!
Today
Currently, we balance family life, our work as doctors and businesswomen, continuous learning, and our free time, always looking for balance and trying to enjoy each day. We share the love for nature and deeply value our relationship as sisters, twins, best friends, and confidants. At present, we provide our services exclusively in private healthcare (Mariana) and both private and public healthcare (Karolina), working as an associate doctor in the Gynecology Department at Virgen Macarena University Hospital in Seville.
